The Rest of the Story -- "How A Saint Became Santa Claus"

Saint Nicholas' Mission

  • To bring hope and joy to children of all ages.
  • To listen to children talk about whatever they want to talk about.
  • To give each child a warm hug and words of encouragement and hope.
  • To demonstrate God’s love, grace, and compassion to children and those who care for them.
  • To pray silently for each child and family he meets.
  • To speak out on behalf of children whenever and wherever necessary.
  • To encourage organizations working to improve children’s lives and make Christmas special for children around the world.

What Saint Nicholas Believes

  • All children should be exceedingly well loved.
  • All children should be well fed and adequately clothed.
  • All children should be kept safe and warm.
  • All children should live in a loving home.
  • All children should be given as much education as possible.
  • All children should be taught how much God loves and cares for them.
  • All children deserve at least one present on Christmas.
  • There is room for everyone on the Nice List.
  • We should treat every day like Christmas Day.
  • We should all nurture a spirit of giving every day of the year.
  • The reason for Christmas is to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
